Industrial machinery parts, frames and weldments from Vietnam

Big parts, and why location matters
Large weldments and machine bases are expensive to ship, so buyers look for regions where welding, stress relief and large-bed machining are close together and labor for fit-up and grinding is available. Vietnam has a growing base of fabrication shops that serve local and export equipment makers.
The weak point is usually the step between welding and machining. A frame that is not stress relieved moves after it is machined. We check how that step is done and where.

What we check at the factory
On top of our standard audit (registration, machines on the floor, capacity, references), these are the points that matter most in this sector.
Machine size and crane capacity
Travel on the largest machine and the crane rating in the bay. A part that cannot be lifted cannot be flipped for a second setup.
Welding qualification
Welder qualifications and procedures if your drawing calls for them, and how welds are inspected.
Stress relief
Whether the furnace is on site or subcontracted, its size, and whether there is a time and temperature record for each part.
Large-part measurement
How flatness and alignment are measured on a part bigger than the CMM: laser tracker, optical level or a surface plate.

How big a part can Vietnamese shops machine?
It depends on the shop. Several have gantry or floor-type machines for multi-meter parts. We confirm travel and crane capacity for your part before shortlisting.
Can the factory assemble and test the sub-assembly?
Many can fit bearings, guides and drives and run a basic function test. Tell us what you need tested and we check the shop can do it.
How are big frames shipped?
Usually in a container or on a flat rack, crated and braced. We review the packing plan before the first shipment.
